Children Surf Lesson in Waikiki

My kids 7 and 8 just had private lessons with Micah. This is their first time taking surf lesson. They had such a great time. Micah is very knowledgable and really good with kids. He has a go pro and recorded great videos. My kids were able to catch a lot waves...I highly recommend Mickey Surf School. Thanks so much Micah.

Micah is fabulous and is the BEST for a child. My daughter is seven years old and she leaned 50% of surfing (Micah's words, not mine) in her first day. Before the class started, Micah sent me a video for her to practice in land, which saved 15 min in the sun. They went to the water right away. My daughter learned standing up on her own and she loves surfing when she came back. They found a turtle, nice surprise. When she came back, this is her "best day" ever. While waiting at the beach, I met a couple who also learned surfing from Micah and gave me incredible testimony about him. I myself signed surfing class with hotels in the past and this quality of teaching has far exceeded my expectations, not to mention his price. He is the best!!! Btw, we got his name from a surf instructor of my hotel

It was her first time taking surfing lessons and Micah took the time to explain everything on the beach prior to entering the ocean. She was so excited she was able to catch waves during her first lesson. We unfortunately scheduled the lessons towards the end or our trip, because we would have scheduled another lesson, she loved it so much! An additional bonus is you get footage of the lessons, such a great way to show off you went surfing on vacation! Thank you so much for a wonderful experience Micah!

Mickey is a good choice for younger surfers! He cares a lot about safety! I chose Mickey because his website looks less commercialized than other and his rate was better.I booked for my twins and they had a good time. My daughter was not the best student because she did not grasp the concept of surfing as she kept jumping off the surf board. Mickey was very patient with her and he even managed to get some good videos.We will definitely come back for more lesson!

I don't normally write reviews but I just had to because Mickey is awesome and instilled the love of surfing for my 2 boys (ages 10 and 5)! They had never surfed before but he had them up on boards and surfing in less than an hour! Not only was he great on teaching them technical form - he is SO encouraging during the learning process, and simply just SO MUCH fun! They were laughing and smiling the entire time - he is just fantastic! They ended up wanting to surf a few more days of our trip. We just came back to the islands and went to Maui this time. They asked to do surf lessons again, and they were great here in Maui, but both boys hands down said they loved surfing with coach Mickey because he was SO FUN and really made them love the surf and look forward to going back to Oahu to get more lessons with him!

We are lucky to have found Micah through our neighbor's recommendation. He's just an amazing coach! We booked lessons for our two boys 7 year old and 5 year old. Both of them are still learning how to swim, but the 7 year old was able to get up on the board almost on his first wave! The water at Waikiki is quite shallow and safe even for non-swimmers. Micah is super good at talking to kids and teaching them in a fun way. At the end of the lessons, we also received nice gopro videos of boys surfing and the turtles they saw. We took two lessons with him, and they are definitely the highlights of our trip. We look forward to coming back to Waikiki next year for more lessons with Micah!

I am not used to taking time to write a review, either good or bad. But, with the experience my son had with Micah - we determined to writing a review once our vacation was over.I must say that Micah is very passionate in the work he does. He is a great teacher. He is very approachable, down to earth person and has the skill to deal with kids. My 12 year old son just loved his first surfing experience.I could not imagine that my son would be up on surf board within the first 30 min of the class. he was doing it on his own once Micah helped him catch a wave.Waikiki beach is best, beautiful and wonderful for the first timers. It can't be topped any better than a dedicated teacher like Micah.In addition to the wonderful teaching, Micah also captures using his GoPro which is a treasure of our trip. Again, I highly recommend Micah. He is Passionate, Energetic teacher & great with kids.

Micah was highly recommended to us by our shuttle driver. He taught my 16 yr old daughter how to surf for the first time, and she got up on her first wave and was catching waves the entire lesson! His instructions are tailored to the individual, so he is great for all types of people looking to surf. He is a great guy and we all enjoyed getting to know him. Lesson was so good we were able to book a second lesson a few days later and this time my daughter brought 2 friends. He was so good with them all once again. I got lucky enough to witness Micah teach other kids while hanging out on the beach and right away noticed his enthusiasm and energy. I asked if he was available to teach my kids and they ended up going two days in a row. Micah is very encouraging even my more difficult 6 year old was motivated to learn. Very personalized and really put the kids at ease...will definitely book again next trip! Micah - Josh and Bella say mahalo!!!

Wow! What a great experience for my 9 year old! She has never surfed before but with Micah, it was all fun and exhilaration! He stayed with her the whole time and eventually worked up to where she could stand and catch a wave on her own. He's super talented able to do so many things at once! On top of that he's goes above and beyond to make sure his students have the best experience possible. Thank you!

Search no more! Book your class now!! My seven year wanted to learn how to surf on our vacay. Mickey is a child whisperer and his energy is like meeting an old friend. Mickey sent a few tutorial video prior to the class. This visual helped my son understand what was going to happen in class. He communicated well over text where to meet. Mickey and my son instantly connected. Their bond was like fast surf buddies just having fun. To see my boy stand up on the board with Diamond Head as their backdrop was a dream for me. My son was STOKED! He wanted more after the class. Afterwards, Mickey shared all the videos of their surf adventures. To hear them have silly conversations in the videos, the fun they had coming up with a surf name and the genuine Ohana Mickey displayed to his students. He's unique in his teaching. His skills holding the surfboard with one leg, recording GoPro videos from his paddle, the trust he made me feel taking great care of my child and the love of surfing he shared with my son. They even saw a turtle in the wild! Mickey exceeded all my expectations. I enjoyed talking to him afterwards. The next time we are in Waikiki I will definitely hit Mickey up again. Our son asked to take surfing lessons late in our trip to hawaii. After looking up some places, we found Mickey's surf school. It was a busy week for Mickey but he was able to squeeze us in for a lesson at the last minute, which we are so thankful for! He sent us some videos to show our 4-yo before the lesson. Our son was nervous and felt iffy the day before. However, when we got to the location and he met Mickey, he got comfortable really quick. Mickey took his time to chat and get to know our son so he wouldn't be shy or have stranger danger. As soon as they were ready to head to the water, my son happily and excitedly followed Mickey. He enjoyed his lesson so much and wanted to see all his surfing videos, which Mickey provided to us. My son wanted more lessons but this was our last day. We will definitely come back next time we are here. Thanks for being patient and so wonderful to our son! He may have picked up a new hobby.

Outstanding, simply outstanding! We signed my son (10yrs old) for a surf lesson today and suffice to say he finished the lesson bubbling over with excitement about how fun surfing was, how awesome Mickey was and when he could go back. Mickey is warm, genuine and a true educator. His patience and enthusiasm for teaching people how to surf is unmatched! It's hard to share a hidden gem with the world, but really Mickey is one of them. The GoPro footage he shared was the icing on the cake- and watching the footage afterwards was incredible, especially seeing the huge smile on my son's face when he was surfing! Thank you so much Mickey, you're amazing and if you want an amazing instructor- Mickey absolutely is your guy!

Amazing experience Today my children aged 5 and 8 had a wonderful surfing experience with Mickey. They were both standing up riding waves and having a great time. They can't wait to come back.
